Donna has been to LA before but not since she was stationed at El Toro in the early 1990s. I have never been to Los Angeles. We knew there would be traffic so we decided to go in the middle of the week after the morning rush hour. We are camped about 84 miles from the beginning of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

One thing we both quickly agreed upon is that our RV, Sweet Georgia Brown, will never ride I-5 above Irvine. We saw some brave folks driving 40 feet or more RVs through LA traffic. That is madness in my mind.

I used to work in downtown Atlanta. I thought I knew what homelessness is. I have never been exposed to homelessness on this level within the United States. You won’t see any pictures. I will not exploit someone else’s misfortune for a blog article. We noticed this more when we were driving home due Google Maps ‘short cut’ through industrial areas. There has got to be a better way to help people find affordable and safe housing.

All in all, it was a wonderful day. Here is our latest installment of Five Minutes with JoDo. Let us know your thoughts about Los Angeles.
